GET FOUND ONLINE BY PEOPLE LOOKING FOR WHAT YOU DO

Local SEO and AI Search

Google search page on tablet

The way people find businesses has changed again.

Google Search and Maps are still important, but customers now rely on AI-powered tools like ChatGPT and Gemini to explore options, compare providers, and find answers.

Being visible in this environment requires a connected digital presence that helps search platforms understand your business, what you offer, where you work, and why customers should trust you.

At Beacon, we focus on five essential areas:

  1. Establish a strong digital foundation. Make sure both your website and the information about your business that's found across the web is accurate, accessible, and consistent.
  2. Make your expertise easy to understand. Create useful content that answers real questions, and helps the AI tools and people recognize when and why you're a good fit.
  3. Strengthen your reputation. Build credibility through authentic reviews, customer experiences, and evidence of your expertise that's properly woven into your web pages and online resources.
  4. Connect your digital presence. Reinforce your business identity across relevant directories, local platforms, and trusted relationships.
  5. Measure, learn, and improve. Track visibility, engagement, and business results to guide what we do next.

These elements work together to strengthen your visibility in traditional and AI-powered search. We prioritize the work based on your business goals, your competitive environment, and where we see the greatest opportunity.

And because we believe a good partnership should earn your confidence, we don't require long-term contracts.

Website Design & Development FAQs

What platforms do you use?

As a website design and development agency, we've created many sites in WordPress, but as the versatility and stability of website building platforms has grown, we've gained expertise in top options including Squarespace, WIX and a lesser-known option (used for our own site here) called duda.co. We also know Shopify (when online sales is your mission).

Do I need a new website or Can my existing site be improved?

Your website may be underperforming, under-representing your current brand capabilities, or simply be structured poorly for today's needs. Not every underperforming website needs to be rebuilt!

Sometimes improvements to design, messaging, navigation, speed, or search optimization can make a meaningful difference, without you having to start over.

We start by understanding your business goals and evaluating what's working, what's not, and whether your current website can support where you want to go. Then we'll recommend the most practical path forward.

How long does it take to design and launch a business website?

It really depends on the size and complexity of the site, as well as the photos, stories, and other content that are available. Small sites can be created in a month; more complex projects requiring a large quantity of content development, or work to ensure content from a previous site is properly connected (so you preserve good link value) may require 6 months or even more.

  • How much content do you have? How much new content is needed to support your business case?
  • Do you have photos and video to demonstrate your business capabilities and credentials?
  • What special functionality or integrations will help you reach your business goals and/or connect with your prospects and customers?

In our planning phase we'll work with your to define the site parameters. Then we'll outline a realistic timeline as part of your proposal, with clear milestones for design, content, development, and launch. You'll know what to expect and when your input is needed.

SEO and AI Search FAQs

What helps a business get found in Google and AI search?

Search platforms and AI tools have one key job to do: provide helpful, relevant, and reliable information. For local businesses seeking to be mentioned in searches and AI chats, that means it's important to have a strong, clear, set of signals that these tools can read and trust. An attractive “brochure” website just doesn't cut it anymore.

  • Your business information must be accurate, complete, and consistent across the web. If your details don't match up, the tools can't tell which is correct.
  • Your website and other online resources should clearly explain your services, locations, and expertise, as well as convey your approach, values, and systems. If you don't include it, the tools can't reference it in their responses.
  • And your reputation — including customer reviews, credentials, and references from other credible sources — helps establish why people should consider you. If you can't demonstrate your capabilities, the tools will reference someone who does.

There's no magic bullet to achieving top rankings or recommendations in AI-generated answers. But we’ve repeatedly seen that strengthening these elements together, can help your business become easier to find, understand, and evaluate.

That's why we take a coordinated approach to local SEO and AI search visibility, rather than treating each marketing tactic as an isolated activity.

Does improving AI Search visibility mean creating more content?

Not necessarily. The reality is that the volume of content is less critical than its specificity, credibility, uniqueness, and clarity.

Starting in early 2025, as AI truly exploded on the scene, we began incorporating tools and techniques that enable clients to rise in both visibility and positivity (how strong and supportive your mention is), in AI search queries.

As we monitor results, we're finding that much of the foundation remains similar: focus on clear, useful content, credible information, and a strong presence across the places people and search tools look for answers.

At Beacon Creative Lab, we start with your revenue drivers and business goals, and map out a step-by-step strategy for creating a well-rounded, proof-supported array of content for your website as well as for other relevant platforms that work together to differentiate and establish credibility.

We work with our strategy-driven clients to design a Minimum Effective Output (MEO) plan focusing on the activities most likely to make a meaningful difference. Then we review and refine monthly so we know what's driving business, and which pieces of the plan are doers (or duds).
